Start by clicking Create app workspace. Then a yellow bar will appear with “Preview improved workspaces” and then click Try now.

What’s new in the new workspaces experiences preview:
- Manage access to workspaces easily using security group, distribution lists , and even multiple Office 365 Groups
- Create a workspace in Power BI without creating an Office 365 group
- New tools for Power BI Admins to effectively manage workspaces, including APIs for Admins.
- Starting to retire organizational and service content packs
How to try the New Workspace Experiences preview:
After clicking Try now, you can create a new app workspace without creating an Office 365 Group. You can provide an image, and workspace name, a description, and under Advanced choose whether to place it in a Power BI Premium dedicated capacity.
After your workspace is created, it will start to behave similarly to existing app workspaces; meaning you can add users through the Access pane, add content using Get Data, Share, Collaborate, etc. Press Skip to access the content list of the workspace.
When you access the workspace’s content list, you’ll see a few differences. There is now a banner for the new workspace preview and you can see the new buttons for Access and Settings.
The Access pane will be your first new workspace experience. You can add any kind of user group to any workspace role. The role is given to everyone who is in that user group but when a user group membership changes, the access to the workspace is automatically updated.
In this screenshot, you’ll see that there is a new Contributor role.
